“Star Trek” actor William Shatner is currently facing a lawsuit for intentionally harassing and berating a former employee of his — and this was allegedly because the employee declined to sign a waiver after suffering from an injury on the job.

According to reports, Oscar Alfaro and his wife Delmy filed the legal docs in Los Angeles County Superior court on Tuesday, claiming they both worked for 81-year-old William Shatner for a period of twenty years. Oscar Alfaro worked as a handyman, while his wife was a housekeeper.

In the court documents, Oscar Alfaro claims he was injured while working at the Studio city home of the actor. However, when Shatner wanted him to sign a document to release him from financial responsibility, the handyman refused.

Oscar went on, saying that as a result of his declining to sign the papers, William Shatner and his wife retaliated against him by harassing the handyman and his wife — to the point where they were both forced to resign from their jobs.

Oscar Alfaro and Delmy claim they both suffered from embarrassment, humiliation and mental distress in addition to the loss of earnings. Now, they are suing William Shatner for unspecified damages.

William Shatner gained worldwide recognition and even became a cultural icon for his portrayal of James T. Kirk, captain of the USS Enterprise in the science-fiction TV series “Star Trek” from 1966 to 1969, “Star Trek: The Animated Series” from 1973 to 1974, and in seven of the following “Star Trek” feature films from 1979 to 1994. Shatner wrote a series of books detailing his experiences playing Captain Kirk and being a part of “Star Trek” cast. He also co-wrote a lot of novels set in the “Star Trek” universe and authored a series of science fiction novels called “TekWar” that were adapted for television.

Shatner played the eponymous veteran police sergeant in “T. J. Hooker” from 1982 to 1986. Afterwards, he hosted the reality-based television series, “Rescue 911” from 1989 to 1996, which won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Dramatic Series. He has since worked as a musician, author, producer, director and celebrity pitchman. From 2004 to 2008, William Shatner played the role of attorney Denny Crane in the television dramas “The Practice” and its spin-off, “Boston Legal” for which he grabbed two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award.

‘Star Trek’ legend William Shatner sincerely apologized to the British town of Ilfracombe for making a prostitution crack  about it during a panel in the U.K. last month.

According to E! News, the 81-year-old Shatner appeared on the BBC1 show ‘Have I Got News for You.’ The original Captain James T. Kirk was set to talk about the town of Ilfracombe in the county of Devon in southwestern England. The town will be a venue for the Olympic torch relay during the London Summer Olympics.

However, lacking a handy-dandy universal translator, William Shatner mispronounced Ilfracombe. Fellow panelist Charlie Brooker remarked that Shatner’s verbal gaff sounded “deeply sexual.”

That was the cue for Shatner to joke that “The place is laced with prostitution.”

E! News reported that a fair number of Britons didn’t appreciate the Canadian actor’s joke. In particular, the ex-mayor of Ilfracombe, Paul Crabb, sent the  agents of William Shatner an acerbically polite letter.

“As Captain James T. Kirk,” Crabb, who is now a town councilor, began, “Mr. Shatner has been to places where no man has gone before. However,” noted the former mayor, “The episode of ‘Have I Got News For You‘ clearly shows he has never been to Ilfracombe.”

Councilor Paul Crabb then indirectly invited William Shatner to visit Ilfracombe. “If he came, we could show him that there is no prostitution in Ilfracombe,” he stated, “And that it is a lovely coastal town with spectacular scenery and a close community.”

E! News reported that William Shatner seemed to be aware of the backlash surrounding his prostitution joke about Ilfracombe. The ‘Star Trek’ star made amends through an email to Councilor Paul Crabb simply signed “Bill.”

“I would be hard pressed to believe,” Shatner began in an apparently irreverent tone, “That sex was not being had in Ilfracombe for something of value.” He then cited “a lengthy marriage, children, or a valuable career” as reasons for people to have sex.

“In any event,” the now-sincere William Shatner wrote, “My apologies for having singled out Ilfracombe as a potential haven for prostitution.” He then put a good word in for Councilor Paul Crabb come the next mayoral elections. “With you overseeing,” Shatner declared, “I am sure that will not happen.”

‘Dancing With the Stars’ contestant Maria Menounos got to smooch her partner Derek Hough. Now she’s found a new kissing partner: Captain James T. Kirk himself.

The original Kirk, that is, and not Chris Pine from the 2009 J.J. Abrams remake of ‘Star Trek.’

CeleBuzz caught Maria Menounos, 33, puckering up with the ‘Star Trek’ legend William Shatner on the set of ‘Extra.’ The 81-year-old Canadian actor stopped by to promote his new book, ‘Get a Life!’, which takes a look at Trekkies, Trekkers, and the numerous conventions.

The friendly Menounos offered to show off her dance moves. William Shatner promptly did a Kirk by pulling her in for a smooch after their impromptu dance number. Maria Menounos didn’t look upset by the power move. Instead, she and William Shatner laughed hysterically as the actor told the camera, “That’s not the way I kiss.”

Speaking of power moves, Shatner’s fellow Canadian actor David James Elliot (of ‘JAG’ fame) also stopped by ‘Extra’ to show off.

The GCB star mainly talked about his work for charity ‘A Better LA.’ But David James Elliot also got to lay his hands on the lovely Menounos… through demonstrating various martial arts moves, such as a choke hold, on the blond ‘Extra’ host.

No worries for Maria Menounos, though. She has done a couple of spots of pro wrestling on World Wrestling Entertainment. She even wrestled once despite having two broken ribs from ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ which proves that dancing is also a contact sport.
